Does this look like Barack Obama to you? Conservative American radio host Glenn Beck thinks so.
(You can listen to the batshit crazy mother-f***er right HERE.)
And while he claims he does not care that Spiderman’s latest incarnation, in Marvel’s new Ultimate Spider-Man, is of black and Latin descent and may even be gay, he does know where to point the finger for this latest development.
According to Beck, it’s all down to first lady Michelle Obama, and a speech she gave in 2008. . .
Beck explains this geek redistributionism by saying this line from the First Lady’s speech is to blame:
“Barack knows that we are going to have to make sacrifices; we are going to have to change our conversation; we’re going to have to change our traditions, our history; we’re going to have to move into a different place as a nation.”
Isn’t it obvious she was talking about Marvel introducing a blatino Spider-Man? Or the Affordable Care Act? Or whatever generic threat to “Real American” conservatives are foaming at the mouth over on any given day?
Beck doesn’t actually read comic books; he calls them “stupid.”
It’s just that the story is irresistible, because it reinforces his grand narrative of the Obama administration, which is one in which black people keep taking white people’s hard-earned stuff.
You know. Like comic book heroes.
